Food waste is a problem growing at an alarming rate in the United States. According to savethefood.com, 40% of food in America is wasted every year which equates to over 80 Million pounds and $161 billion in food waste annually. To put another way, the average family of four throws out around $1500 of food each year.

pureAir FRIDGE can help #savethefood! pureAir FRIDGE improves food’s shelf life up to three times longer. By using ionization and ozone technologies, pureAir FRIDGE reduces odors, such as those caused by bacteria and ethylene gasses from decaying food. It also neutralizes pesticides on your produce.

GreenTech Environmental is committed to fighting food waste, not just in America, but across the globe. In 2019 GreenTech sold 4,772 pureAir FRIDGE units, effectively saving over $7 million in food waste. As the interest in air purification grew during the global pandemic in 2020, GreenTech sold 11,149 pureAir FRIDGE products effectively saving $16,723,500 in food waste!

Unlike other refrigerator purification products, the pureAir FRIDGE has no installation process, is as small as a soda can, requires no replacement filters, and is easy to clean and charge. Unlike a box of baking soda in the refrigerator, pureAir FRIDGE doesn't just remove unwanted odors, it keeps food fresh longer. One customer review states, “This product is amazing! For a busy, on-the-go person, keeping fruits and vegetables fresh is tough. By the time I try and enjoy my produce, it’s spoiled. With this product I've noticed a dramatic difference in the longevity of my food. It’s worth the money!”

The pureAir FRIDGE is simple to use. With its powerful lithium-ion battery and photosensor technology, one four-hour charge will keep pureAir FRIDGE running for up to 24 days! When pureAir FRIDGE needs a recharge, the device will emit an audible alert upon opening the refrigerator door and the LED will flash red.

While the FRIDGE is an effective and efficient way to save money, more importantly, it helps lower food waste. Lowering food waste preserves energy and also lowers the cost of food nationally. In just one year, pureAir FRIDGE has reduced over $16 million in America’s food waste. Those 11,000 units equate to just .00000034% of the US population owning a single device. If just 1% of the population owned the pureAir FRIDGE, it’s possible that $4,923,600,000 could be saved in food waste across the nation!

National Nonprofit Day 2021

August 17, 2021

National Nonprofit Day, a day that recognizes the goals and positive impacts nonprofits have on communities and the world, is on August 17. For us, it’s an opportunity to help one of our favorite nonprofits, Kari’s Heart Foundation (KHF). A faith-based organization, KHF provides a wide range of personal, financial and social resources to families experiencing a healthcare crisis. It’s hard enough for parents who face the emotional trauma of having their child being hospitalized. Dealing with some of the expenses can be overwhelming without the help and support of great organizations like Kari’s Heart Foundation.
